Sinking Creek Soaps Ribbon Cutting
The Greater Ardmore Chamber celebrated the opening of Sinking Creek Soaps Farm Store on April 21 at 759 Lofton Hall Rd in Ardmore, Tennessee.
Kay Cornelison is the owner, operator, and maker of everything Sinking Creek Soaps. While Kay is the owner and operator, she credits her entire family for her business success. Her husband, Donnie, helps with everything farm related. Her sister, Donna Sorrell, designs, packages, labels all the products and stocks and arranges the store.
Her daughter-in-law, Amy, manages social media and the Sinking Creek Soaps website. She also has two assistants, Zoe Pepper and Bryna Cornelison, that help with different tasks in the store and on the farm.
Kay raises small breed milk goats and uses the goat milk to make soaps and lotions. Goat milk boasts many skin nourishing properties. Kay started her venture with three Nigerian Dwarf goats in 2015. Her interest in soap making became her successful small business. Everything she sells is homemade in small batches on the farm.
In addition to the soaps and lotions, Kay also makes wax melts, candles, sugar scrubs, bath bombs, and shower steamers. People enjoy visiting the Farm Store because they can see the goats, a variety of different chickens, their Great Pyrenees dogs, and their peacock.
